Got a call from someone in Yarraville. A tree with a possum box full of bees was coming down. I went to the house and the arborist had already taken the box down. So I just covered the box with a sheet and took it home.
As I placed it in my garden the bottom of the box fell off so I carefully placed it on a hive lid and, as it was raining, I put another hive lid on the top of the box to give the bees more shelter.
You can see that the box is full of bees and they are building their comb out the entrance. I’ll wait for a fine day before transferring the bees into a hive box.
